ABOUT WILDFLOWERS & THE MATHER FAMILY

Wildflowers Inn was first established in 1986, originally the Wayside Inn, it was bought by Kenneth and Lorelei Mather, of that same year. It was Lorelei that gave the restaurant its name, but it was Kenneth that developed some of the dishes that are still served the same today as they were then. Both were natives of New Jersey in the Trenton area. Grew up around the bar and restaurant way of life, and that has transpired to their two children Victoria and Jacquelyn Mather. Both who are involved in the business today are still helping their Dad run things since their Mom passed in 1993.  This family owned and operated business continues to keep a casual and low key feel about the place, so everyone feels welcome from the business person at lunch who can pre-order their meal to the family with a few kids that might get a bit rowdy!

Wildflowers insist on using the freshest ingredients, from the pizzas, the sauces and dressings, to the sautéed dishes! The Master Head Cook Lori Holcombe has been overseeing this kitchen from the start, consistency in the quality of the dishes is her priority, and has since put her stamp on the food that is served today. She is a key part of the Mather family.

You will find some of the staff has been here from day one, and some are just passing through working their way through college, either way, all are considered a part of the Wildflowers “extended” family. Even the “Regulars” are known on a first name basis.
